Lee Goff was born in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. He worked as a book-binder in a printing plant for sixteen years before embarking on the adventure of becoming a lawyer.
He attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Western Legal Studies, and then continued his education at Liberty University School of Law, graduating with his law degree in 2015.
After graduation, he and his family relocated to South Dakota, where he opened a solo practice focused on various legal issues, including business formation, estate planning, and criminal and civil matters. Lee dedicated eleven years to serving clients in South Dakota. Following thorough prayer and contemplation, Lee, his wife Becky, and their son Tembrook moved to North Carolina. Embracing his southern roots, Lee and his family feel at home in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina while continuing to practice law in South Dakota.
In 2016, Lee established Garland Lee Goff, Attorney at Law LLC, doing business as Mountain Legal South Dakota, in Custer, SD.
